This front-end developer course prepares you to step confidently into this fast-growing field. With hands-on web developer training in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, you will learn how to create responsive, user-friendly web applications from the ground up. You will also learn how modern developers use AI throughout their work. Two dedicated modules (Getting Started with AI Development and AI as a Coding Partner) help you set up an AI toolchain, learn to build webpages with AI assistance, and use AI as a coding partner across chat-based and agentic workflows with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, and Claude Code.
Throughout this web developer and AI training program, you will apply your knowledge directly by designing and building the front end of a real website—translating theory into practical, job-ready skills. As you progress through the course, you will build a professional portfolio to showcase your capabilities, creativity, and technical depth, giving employers a clear view of your technical foundation, practical experience, and AI-enhanced skills. If attending with a WIOA workforce grant, your course access is dependent on 20 hours of completed coursework each week and the length of the course. Instructions will be provided at time of acceptance.
Prerequisites:
There are no prerequisites to take this course. You are expected to be reasonably comfortable with computers and have an interest in programming and technology.
Hardware Requirements:
- This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.
Software Requirements:
- PC: Windows 10 or later.
- Mac: macOS 12.0 or later.
- Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
- Microsoft Word (not included in enrollment).
- Adobe Acrobat Reader.
- Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

- Use AI as a coding partner across chat-based and agentic workflows, applying precision prompting and using AI to review, debug, and refine code
- Ways to combine AI assistance with traditional development skills for improved productivity
